1_Parkville Audio Map. Wander around the Parkville neighborhood with a microphone, minidisc recorder and headphones. Let your ears guide you. How does the world sound when you listen this closely? Try finding things that you hear before you see.

Collect interesting, intriguing, amusing and unexpected sounds as you explore during the first weeks of the session. Keep careful records of track number, sound location and the source of sounds as you do this. Record natural sounds as well as unnatural sounds. Include voices of people talking, telling stories and your own narration.

Be curious and creative. Try being as inclusive of all of the sounds happening as possible. What was interesting, or unexpected about the various sounds? Which sounds begin to tell a story about a place or person?

Your recordings will be added to the Parkville Audio Map on the Real Art Ways web site.

A CD of your sounds will be due in class on a date to be announced.
